Job Overview As a Local Delivery Truck Driver, you will be a crucial part of our team, running daily routes with frequent stops. Your responsibilities include loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading products at each designated stop. You'll pick up a loaded truck from our designated loading dock at night and return an empty truck at the end of your route. Key Responsibilities Run routes efficiently and meet or exceed timed performance metrics. Unload products from the trailer, either manually or with equipment, and place them in customer storage areas, regardless of challenging conditions. Frequently lift, push, or move products weighing between 1 to 75 pounds, with occasional weights up to 100 pounds, including bending and twisting as necessary. Verify delivery of items with customers to ensure proper signatures and address any discrepancies promptly. Communicate customer complaints or issues effectively and professionally. Handle company equipment responsibly, follow safety rules, and perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in line with DOT regulations and Sysco policies. Qualifications Minimum Requirements At least 21 years of age. Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record is required. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Willingness to handle touch freight and lift weights averaging 40-60 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as needed. Preferred Qualifications One year of customer delivery experience is preferred. Six months of experience using hand carts or hand trucks is preferred. Six months of experience in the Food and Beverage industry is preferred. Two years of consistent work history is preferred. FreshPoint
